Eagle Ranch closes for the season on October 12, and there is one more evening worth setting aside before it does.
The course quiets down this time of year. Fall colour settles into the valley, the patio empties out a little earlier each evening and the whole property takes on a slower, more reflective pace. It is not a bad way to spend the last weekend before winter.
This year, that last weekend includes a three-course Thanksgiving dinner at Traders Lounge, prepared by Chef Chris Profit. Expect turkey, stuffing and traditional sides, along with a few seasonal touches that round out the table.
Dinner runs Friday, October 9, from 5 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, from 11 am to 8 pm. Spots are limited, so reserving ahead is worth doing if you already know you will be in the valley that weekend.

There is no single right way to spend the weekend, but a few pieces tend to fit together well.
None of it needs to be planned to the hour. The point of the weekend is closer to slowing down than checking things off.
If a weekend is not enough, October rates at the Headwaters Private Residences are currently $850 a night, with a three-night minimum. It is one of the quieter stretches of the year to have the valley mostly to yourself.
The season does not stay open much longer, and neither does the chance to sit down at Traders Lounge before it closes. If Thanksgiving in the Columbia Valley sounds like the right way to close out the year, this is the weekend to plan it around.
